Booking: five entries in the log between hello and her knock

Everything happens in writing, on WhatsApp or Telegram, at whatever hour you happen to be awake. There is no form and no account, and a message with the right details usually settles the whole booking in two or three replies.

Some guests arrive here with a name from the rota; others know only the shape of the evening. Both routes end at the same five steps.

From message to knock

A name, or a brief

Choose a companion from the Available page, or write a line about the night instead: supper in the room, dinner out, company until breakfast. Henrietta replies with names who suit it and are free.

Step 01

Send the script

Copy the booking line below, fill in the brackets and send it. Date, time, length and hotel in one message spares you a round of questions.

Step 02

Read the reply

Within minutes, normally inside fifteen, the desk confirms the companion, the fee in pounds and her arrival time to the minute. Beyond Zone 2, the taxi figure comes in the same reply.

Step 03

One check

Who the room is registered to, the hotel, the room number: checked once in the chat. At a private home it is the street address and whose name is on the bell. Then she sets off.

Step 04

The knock

She comes up like any visitor, at the time given. You hand her the fee in person as she arrives, and your booked time runs from that moment.

The opening line

Swap each bracket for your own details and send it as it stands. Henrietta answers with a name and an exact arrival time, in writing.

Hello, I would like to book [name] on [date] at [time] for [duration]. I am staying at [hotel name], and will share the room number on confirmation.

Why a corridor needs a name

A companion walking an unfamiliar corridor at one in the morning should know that a named guest is expecting her behind that particular door. You, in turn, are owed a booking nobody else can divert. The check gives both, once, inside the thread you already have open, and the hotel reception is never telephoned.

Log02

How long it all takes

The desk answers in minutes at any hour. After the check, most central hotels see her within the hour, and in Mayfair or Soho she is often there in forty minutes; the City can run longer after midnight. Heathrow and Gatwick call for three booked hours and some warning.

Spotting an impostor

Genuine messages come from two places only: the WhatsApp and Telegram links on this site. Treat as fake any chat that wants identity documents, photographs or codes of any kind from you, or that produces a "release fee" or "insurance" charge out of nowhere. If one turns up, stop replying and open a fresh conversation through the buttons here.

Changing the hour

Reply in the same thread. With three hours' notice or more, moving or cancelling costs nothing; the full ladder of changes sits on the rates board.

FAQ 04

Before you press send

Straight answers from the night desk. Anything missing goes to Henrietta in one message.

No. Send the hotel and the time; the room number is only needed at the check, and plenty of guests send it once they have their key.

No. Same desk, same replies, same single check. Pick the one you already use.

The date, the hour, the length and your hotel, plus a sentence about the evening. Matching a companion to it is the desk's job.

She knocks. If your hotel asks late visitors to wait downstairs, the desk tells you in advance and you meet her in the lobby.
