Blondes: four companions, and the one thing each carries into the lobby

Four companions on the rota are blonde, and the night porter could tell them apart without looking at their hair. Each one comes through the revolving door carrying something. Cindy has a film camera slung across her coat. Nancy has a pair of swimming goggles at the bottom of her bag. Nora has a sketchbook with a pencil pushed through the spiral. Thea has a folded walking map, because the next long walk is always half planned.

The shades differ too, long blonde waves on Cindy, golden on Nancy, honey on Nora, caramel with green eyes on Thea. But the object says more about the evening each will build, so this list is arranged by what is in the bag.

Log01

A film camera: Cindy

Cindy is a daylight booking. She likes to meet in the afternoon, walk the Chelsea Embankment while the sun is on the water, and reach tea at the Cadogan on Sloane Street before the lamps come on. The camera is loaded with film and pointed at bridges, rooftops and the odd heron, never at guests. Slim at 168 cm, blue eyed and plain spoken, she suits a two hour afternoon at £500, and she is good company at an airport hotel too, provided it is planned ahead.

Log02

Swimming goggles: Nancy

Fifty lengths at the heated open air pool on Endell Street most mornings, rain or not, which is why Nancy reaches an evening in a good mood already. She is the easiest of the four to place midweek, often at a few hours of notice, while weekend evenings are best requested by Wednesday. Her favourite plan is a sushi counter off the piazza in Covent Garden, where she lets the chef decide, and a nightcap at a hotel on the Strand. Curvy, 170 cm, blue eyed, and at thirty entirely unbothered by a fully booked restaurant.

Log03

A sketchbook: Nora

Nora designs clothes in her spare hours and draws wherever she sits, including the long champagne bar under the arched roof at St Pancras, where she guesses which city each Eurostar passenger has come from. She lives in Paddington, which makes her a natural first evening for guests who land late at Heathrow and stay by the station. Athletic at 166 cm and hazel eyed, she likes a day of notice, and two hours at £500 covers a glass and the cab back west.

Log04

A folded map: Thea

Thea walks the chalk paths of the South Downs in stages and crosses London on a battered bicycle she refuses to replace. The map comes out over dinner, often at the robata grill of Zuma in Knightsbridge, or later across the desk in your room if you would rather stay in with room service. Curvy at 165 cm with green eyes, she prefers early evenings and gets to Knightsbridge and Kensington hotels quickly.

Log05

Reading the four at a glance

Outdoors and early points to Cindy or Thea. A late landing points to Nora. A midweek evening decided at six points to Nancy. Any of the four can be booked for a single hour at £250, a full overnight of ten hours at £1,800, or any rung between, all listed on the rates page.

Log06

The same four on other boards

Shade is only one way in. Both Nancy and Thea reappear on the curvaceous list. Nora is filed with the toned and athletic too, and Cindy under slim and slender. Hair here is logged as each woman wears it now, and updated the week that changes.
